inspiration.

One of my biggest inspirations is Coco Rocha! An amazing Canadian model, she is one of few models that has spoken out against eating disorders in the modelling industry. She has walked in numerous high fashion runways and has featured in many fashion magazines. Her big break through in the fashion industry was when she modeled in the Jean Paul Gauthier fall\winter 2007 show, she opened the show by irish dancing down the runway... Vogue deemed this the "Coco Moment" and that it was a sign that the industry misses the "supermodels".

Which I totally agreed with! The industry is full of nameless models that have no personality on the runway? Why can't we live it up a little, embrace the glamour and vanity of modelling!

Here are a few of her beautifully dynamic pictures.

ready to wear.

Marc Jacobs is and always will be one of my favorite designers, he has a brilliant view on woman's clothing. This season he has done it again! In his fall\winter 2011 collection you can find a wide range of clothing between androgynous suits and coats, to very feminine 70's shaped dresses. The collection really embraced the feminine body which I love love loveddd, but I wish he would've casted curvier models just to give it the real 70's woman feel. I'm not necessarily a big fan of the polka dots but it definitely kept in tune with the vibe of the collection, it gave it almost a modern approach. I could go on and on about this collection, but I'll just post these few picture's to show to you my favorite looks. Including the lovely high rise pencil skirts and the gorgeous satin flower skirts!!

A little fyi, the second look down, the polka dot lace neck dress was featured in Glamour's September issue worn by Rihanna, it looks amazing on her body type and skin tone. Make sure to check it out!

ready to wear.

Here is Alexander Wang's Fall 2011 ready to wear collection!! This boy is one of my all time favorite designers, his simple colors, eccentric shapes and over all details are incredible. In this collection we find sooo many awesome jackets, the blazer shaped jackets especially caught my eye. Am I the only one that's in love with the silk in this collection, yes it can be a pain in everyday life but just walk around with a bounce sheet in your purse (normal everyday girl trick!!). I love the androgyny feel to the collection, it looks so empowering on a woman, you know it's only a independent woman that can pull these off. Also an interesting new concept that I loved was the silk ribbon skirts, they were so feminine, sexy and classy all at once! The concept of the ribbons on the tank top and pants also look so unique.

I truly do hope that Alexander Wang can keep this up! He keeps blowing me away, and young like he is it's mind blowing. Love him...

haute couture.

In Chanel Fall\Winter 2011-2012 Haute Couture show, there was a recurring theme of 50's inspired coats with a modern fitting shape to them. Every model was wearing a inspired bowler-esque hat with feathers and had a black smokey cat eye covered with a gothic lace bandeau.

All through out the show there was very little color but the outfits kept a high level of vanity (I personally don't need much color). The amazing detail brought to the simple pencil skirt and tailored jackets are incredible, I wasn't too fond of the sparkles, but it was keeping in tune with the Chanel feel without going too gothic. I also loved the fingerless gloves that were recurring in many outfits through out the collection, I will definitely be adopting this look over the fall\winter season. We also see that the long hem will be keeping its standing in the current trends.

I feel that Lagerfeld is only getting cooler and more hip as he ages. Let's keep up the awesomeness!

modelling.

Over the past two years I've been modelling on and off. Where I live there isn't necessarily opportunities all the time but recently I was approached by a photographer named, Denis Duquette. After having done our first shoot together the pictures ended up looking amazing! I had such a nice time shooting with Denis, he had a clear vision of what he wanted but I still felt free to move at my own paste. He definitely knows his art and makes sure you feel comfortable in front of the camera.

By far the best photographer I have worked with up til now, here is a little of his work and my first shoot with him.
