Dear friends,
I have recently been suggested a blog idea by a dear friend of mine, and since I love her so, I decided to pursue it. She asked me, how do I pull of harem pants! And well ladies and gents, it's totally simple and do-able. The rules are pretty straight forward, let the pants be the statement. Since they are so out there try to keep the other items simple, you can cheat it with accessories though, depending on how high fashion you want to take it. To keep it on the more casual side I would definitely stay with flat shoes or boots and play with scarfs and or vests (like in the pictures below). To make them more dressy, I would play a bit more with color and bold accessories. Like in the pictures below where they pare it with bold yellow's. A print on the pants is fun too, but like so in the picture she kept the rest of the pieces in black to tone it down.
Well friends I hope this helped some of you, and remember don't be afraid to experiment. ;)
Lots of love, Jess.
P.S. don't pare a flow-y top with these, it will make you look twice your size.

organized closet, organized mind.
Dear Messy Girls,
I know it can be tough... keeping your closet clean is almost a nightmare for anyone with a lot of clothing, but here's a simple trick.GET ORGANIZED! It's easy to store stuff in a closet, but to keep it tidy is another story, if you don't have a clear view of what you own you'll just keep buying more clothes. Look deep down in that big black hole and I'm sure you'll find a skirt that goes with that new top! Keeping a neat view of your clothing inventory is not only good for saving money and time, but it just gives an overall better atmosphere into your morning ritual.
Now it's pretty simple! Go to any department store close to you and they should have a organizing section (my go to place is Wal-Mart) it's usually pretty affordable depending on what you pick. The more rods the better, the smaller the hangers the more you can fit! Don't make the mistake I made of buying wooden hangers, yeah there pretty but they take up a lot of space in a small closet. Get a shoe rack! It will display all of your gorgeous shoes and will look better then having them piled up in a corner. Last but not least, depending on how much patience you have... you can get shelving to set up, depending on what kind you get the process of setting up can be easier, it's nice to have if you want to fold clothes, store purses or even use it as a bookshelf (I have a couple in mine) it can be very practical.
Well I hope this was able to help.
Lots of love, Jess.

definition of style.
Dear regulars,
If you read my blog you have most likely caught on that I work in a clothing store. As a sales associate I answer all sorts of questions about fashion, but lately I've been getting the same one "oh, well this is in style right?" and everyone that has asked this question implies the same tone of uncertainty. But as you must assume in sales the customer is always right, but sometimes there not and the clothing in your store isn't always something they should be buying. Women are always trying to resemble whats "in" and not something that flatters them, now I can't stress this enough, if the clothing doesn't work it's not you it's it! It's much like the break up line "it's not you it's me" but most likely anyone who has ever said that line meant the total opposite.
You cannot change what you have to work with, you are you and your gonna have to accept it. Their are many trends that I haven't been able to pull off, but I don't get angry at my body? The very next season they'll be another trend that's gonna pop up and you'll love it even more cause it's gonna flatter you! Style is about finding a common ground in what your day to day outfits are and making it pop with certain trends that catch your eye. You can't follow every trend, many women try and some even succeed but if your not a fashion magazine editor the chances are slim of you getting every trend right. So my advice here is to make your wardrobe you, some pieces of clothing never go out of style and are classics, but you mix them up accordingly to what suits you.
I hope this helped some of you poor confused women. I leave you with photos of celebrities rocking the wrong trends because we all do it, even them. ;)
Lots of love,
Jess.
Demi Lovato: I soooo wish I could love this outfit, because the thought is there. Color blocking is a huge trend but this is doing it wrong. Take all the pieces apart and there great but together they just don't work. The draping on the skirt is too much if it were short it would be fine, and we don't want to be too match-y/match-y the shoes should stay neutral when trying color blocking.
Sarah Jessica Parker: She is the fashion icon of our times, no one will ever forget Carrie Bradshaw's style. But this was her character not her, this outfit is way too over accessorized and the hem of her dress is too long for her little figure, if the blazer were tailored to her shape this would be more acceptable.
Selena Gomez: Tweens just don't know how to master trends yet, there experimenting which is totally okay! But in this picture it is evident that this is Justin Bieber's girlfriend. Her rocker boots are too dark and chunky for her simple toned outfit, her shirt is see through and her blazer just doesn't go with the entire thing. I honestly can't even try to fix this one, she's doing a blazer with summer attire and Lady Gaga-esque rocker boots. Too many trends is achievable but can go wrong, much like in this picture.
