coachella craze.

Dear Music Lovers,
I'm gonna be honest and admit that I didn't know what Coachella was before this year, I'm actually embarrassed cause it seems to be an amazing festival. Maybe it's because I'm more social on the internet scene or the fact that it's getting so much media this year but oh my goodness do I ever love this festival! Amazing artist performing, incredible fashions, couples roaming around, celebrity sittings, what's not to love? It seems like Coachella is this vortex into the 70's were everyone would come together for music, celebrities out and about with their loved ones not thinking of the paparazzi, and great line ups of musical geniuses. And so all in all to say that it is now one of my goals to attend one of these festivals, because it seems like one hell of a good time!

I love the fact that one of the basic requirements for this event is to be dressed head to toe in hippie chic and or bohemian cool. Two of my most favorite styles combined with music, it creates the ultimate Woodstock-esque fantasy.

I leave you with my regrets, and I'm now moving forward knowing one day I'll be at Coachella in the heavens of fashion and music combined.

Lots of love,
Your crazy friend Jess.

obsessed.

Dear Fashionista's,
My latest fashion obsessions have come to halt in order for me to write about them, I've been on these sites everyday religiously since I found them. Pose.com & manrepeller.com !

Now pose is this new fashion epidemic taking over the internet, it's kinda like twitter in the sense that you can follow other people and see what they post, but then it's kinda like Facebook in the sense that you can "love" other people's posts. Except on Pose, their not "posts" their "pose's" and you post nothing but fashion related content! It is by far the best source of inspiration, if ever your doubting what to wear or wondering what to pare what with, go on here and feel inspired by all of the incredible fashions. What is cool about pose is that when you make your account the first step is to answer their little quiz (I know what your thinking! Eww a quiz) but it's not the typical quiz! They ask you fashion related question and post photos for you to choose out of, so they know your taste and will give you suggestions on who to follow in terms of your taste of style.

My last Pose.

And well Man Repeller is my love, the author of the blog is Leandra Medine, a lovely and hilarious New York City girl. She talks all about fashion and her personal style of "repelling men". Most fashion forward ladies will tell you it doesn't always sit well with the opposite sex when your dressed to your best high fashion self, which is why Leandra came up with the term man repeller. Here's the definition:

man·re·pell·er1[mahn-ree-peller]

–noun
outfitting oneself in a sartorially offensive way that will result in repelling members of the opposite sex. Such garments include but are not limited to harem pants, boyfriend jeans, overalls (see: human repelling), shoulder pads, full length jumpsuits, jewelry that resembles violent weaponry and clogs.

I leave you with that. Make sure to follow me on my Twitter and if you guys ever find cool fashion sites that you think I should know about let me know!

the good, the bad and the ugly.

Dear Bargain Girls,
Beware of the sale rack, some people are automatically drawn to this section of a store. Which is totally normal who wouldn't be drawn to a 10$ shirt but sometimes you don't always find the best things on these racks, but because your brain see's that it's on sale it will pretty much ignore the fact that it doesn't look good on you. Let me elaborate, working in a clothing store for about 2 years I've come to notice the journey that the clothes make before getting to the sale rack. The one thing you must know is the clothes that are on sale are there because they don't sell, plain and simple right? But no because there can be different reasons as to why it didn't make it into the shopper's bag.

Number one reason, it's ugly plain and simple.

The second most common is because it doesn't flatter the typical body type (aka if you have some sort of an ass or boobs this item won't look good on you).

The third would be that the item didn't appeal to a broad audience, sometimes the piece of clothing is simply too fashion forward for the average folks (this will happen in smaller city's).

The forth and final reason would be that the item sold so well that the company would have gotten over stock and wasn't able to sell the rest of the bunch. (This will also happen in smaller city's, only a certain amount of people can own the same thing without it becoming an epidemic.)

So if your smart you'll be able to guess what item's you should look for... 3 and 4! But ladies don't be mistaken, I am only talking about a sale section that is there day by day. Promotion's are different, store will have these to get rid of some last season items or simply just to be nice and make more sales. Now go shop like a true bargain hunter and make me proud.

trends.

The Collar Shirts...

In the past season's we have seen the collared shirt make quite an appearance! Not only was it adopted on the runways but also in everyday life, celebrities all around smelled the fresh scent of the 50's rising and wanted in! If this trend seems a bit forward or out of your comfort zone, make it your own.

(Boho Chicky's) try leaving the collar open and adding a little shrug/kimono and accessorize to make it your own. Find a shirt with a print and earth tone colors!

(Preppy Girls) Leave your shirt buttoned up to the top, I suggest adding a statement necklace. Wear it with skinny pants and or skirt with a blazer, or with a high waisted wide leg trouser and letting the shirt be the statement.

(Vintage Lovers) if you are a vintage lover you already know what to do with this trend! Commit to it full on 50's!

(Sporty Peeps) try out a more baggy shirt and leave your collar open, pare it with belted shorts and comfy flat shoes. Tuck in your shirt and you'll feel right at home!

This trend is so on fire were seeing it every where's. In the latest collections, Jill Stuart, Miu Miu, Paul & Joe, Chloe and many more!

Here are a few runway pics to get you inspired. If you have any questions on how to pull this trend on with your wardrobe the comment button is below for just that. I love hearing from you guys.

Lots of Love,
Jess

Dear fashionista's,
Say a nice warm bonjour to my latest fashion obsession, Yasmin Sewell! She is a fashion retail consultant, creative advisor for fashion brands and a trend forecaster. Yasmin also owns a Boutique in London called "Yasmin Cho". She is an incredible fashion icon, being able to forecast any upcoming trend is a talent I'm sure we'd all love to posses. Not only does Sewell excel at her job but is an amazing fashionista herself! I added some pictures of her rocking all of the major trends, and pulling them off might I add.

Make sure to check out her blog and learn a little of her wisdom!
